The Karneval der Kulturen 2012 was organised on a very sunny hot day in May.
It was so crowded on that day. Along the streets where the Karneval performers walked through, there were full of people like myself and Dustin who liked to enjoy the colourful street perfomances. People occupied all spaces behind the fences to have a clear view. Who do not come early to reserve a place in front would have little chance to watch and take photos of the Karneval, especially for a small Asian girl versus the giant Germans. I had to try my best chance to stand up on the not-so-stable fence to take some shots. It was of course a not-so-good solution. Seeing that if I could get into one of the boots, where there are not so many people and therefore, I would have some clear views close to the fence. Having nothing to loose (:-p), I went and asked some guards at an entrance of one of the boots if I could go inside to take some photos. At first, they refused. I was patiently explained a little more in German that this was my first time seeing the Karneval in Germany. Finally a kind lady there allowed me to go inside for few minutes. That was really nice of her. So I had got a relatively good place to enjoy the Karneval for about 15 minutes and was able to make some nice shots of the Karneval.
